| minimum amount for dispatch | Saloxyl is an ointment for external use on the skin. The main active substances are salicylic acid and ichthammol. Salicylic acid has an anti-inflammatory and disinfecting effect. It relieves pain and itching in the area of inflammation. It facilitates peeling of crusts, scales, dead tissue and callous skin. It facilitates penetration of other active substances into skin. It is easily absorbed also through an intact skin and is then excreted in urine. Ichthamol has an anti-inflammatory and disinfecting effects, promotes blood circulation in the skin, inhibits itching and reduces sebum production (has an anti-seborrhoeic effect). Other active substances have a mild disinfecting and anti-itching effect as well as a mild contracting effect. |
