Every diabetic should monitor the level of blood sugar (glucose) - i.e. so-called glycaemia - regularly. With the aid of a lancet pen, you will take a small amount of blood from a finger ball and puts it on a special strip (lancet). You will put the strip in the glucometer, which will assess the result within a few seconds. Standard glycaemia is 5.5 mmol/l.
